Hi, I’m Melissa – founder of Belief Dynamics and a certified, registered Hypnotherapy Practitioner based in Harpenden. After more than 30 years in healthcare communications, I now specialise in helping people move from problem to possibility.

Life doesn’t always run smoothly, and many of us drift through our days ‘in a trance’, believing our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are fixed. But the truth is, our beliefs are dynamic. When we work with the subconscious mind, we can reshape the way we think, feel, and respond — unlocking new ways to thrive.

Hypnotherapy is effective for a surprisingly wide range of normal, everyday challenges, including helping you:

  • Find calm: Overcome anxiety, stress, or mild depression and restore your sense of balance.
  • Take back control: Release fears, phobias, or habits like smoking or vaping.

But hypnotherapy isn’t just for solving problems. Many business leaders, performers, and athletes use it to fine-tune focus, build confidence, and perform at their best. I believe everyone should have access to the transformative power of hypnotherapy, which is why I work with children (as young as five) to clients well into their seventies and eighties.

Alongside my one-to-one l sessions, I also run Dynamic Mind & Body Workshops: small-group hypnotherapy sessions exploring themes that matter most to different demographics within our thriving local community.

I had a lot of anxiety around interview situations and I can honestly say the sessions with Mel transformed these experiences for me. After a couple of sessions and practicing the 'homework' of self hypnosis, I managed to harness my nerves so I was in control of them rather than vice versa. And best of all I did not revert to feelings of inadequacy, so I was able to show up in these situations a present, confident, best version of myself within the circumstances.
