Flackwell Heath based science-trained acupuncturist, combining Traditional Chinese Medicine with medical acupuncture for pain relief, healing and wellbeing
A Balanced Approach to Acupuncture
Fairview Acupuncture, based in Flackwell Heath, Buckinghamshire, is led by Emma, a licensed Level 5 acupuncturist with a strong foundation in science and rehabilitation. Emma holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology, a Postgraduate qualification in Education, and also works locally as a Level 4 Lower Back Pain rehabilitative and referral Personal Trainer.
Emma originally trained in acupuncture to complement her personal training work, with a focus on sports injuries and muscular imbalances. She has extensive experience supporting clients with knee, back, neck and hip pain, using dry needling techniques to help relieve discomfort and restore movement. Alongside this, she has developed a deep appreciation for the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the targeted use of meridians to support concerns such as digestive issues, stress, insomnia and migraines.
Creating harmony between body and mind sits at the heart of every treatment plan. While Fairview Acupuncture is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Emma also integrates modern clinical understanding. By gently stimulating nerves beneath the skin and within muscle tissue, acupuncture may encourage the release of endorphins, the body’s natural pain relievers. This can help reduce pain, calm inflammation, improve circulation and support the body’s natural healing response.
Each session begins with a thorough consultation to ensure treatment is carefully tailored to the individual’s needs and goals. Emma’s aim with Fairview Acupuncture is to provide a safe, comfortable and professional environment where clients feel supported throughout their healing journey.
At Fairview Acupuncture, both traditional five element acupuncture and dry needling techniques are considered when designing a personalised treatment plan, offering a comprehensive and balanced approach to health and wellbeing.
Your first appointment is a 90 minute session that includes a detailed consultation and your first acupuncture treatment. We will discuss your lifestyle, diet, sleep, medical history and treatment goals to create a personalised plan.
Please inform Emma of any metal allergies or pregnancy prior to treatment. Consent will be obtained and all information is kept confidential. Wear loose fitting clothing for comfort, as some outer layers may need to be removed. Towels are provided and the treatment bed can be heated for relaxation.
Follow up sessions last between 45 and 60 minutes and are tailored to your current needs and progress. Treatments may focus on musculoskeletal concerns or follow a Five Element acupuncture approach depending on your individual plan.
Appointments are often scheduled weekly at first, gradually spacing out as improvements are made, with flexibility built into your treatment journey.
A block of treatments can be arranged after your initial consultation to support consistent progress. This option is ideal for clients committing to a structured plan and looking to address ongoing or long term concerns through regular sessions.
Single sessions are available once your initial consultation has been completed. Each appointment focuses on your current symptoms and overall balance, helping to maintain progress and support your continued wellbeing.
